science fiction book forthcoming

Many projects in the works for this summer.
This will be the cover for a big collection of
4 science fiction novels I wrote. The book is
illustrated throughout by Laura Vasyutynska.
This book has it all: reincarnation, Sylvan Moore,
clones, talking furniture, Mars, a talking dog,
a space station with fireflies, a robot ghost,
and much more...Look for this book in September
from Good Deed Rain.

new book back cover

Here's the back cover and spine for my new book
The Orphanage of Abandoned Teenagers. It will
be published August 14. Thanks to Fred for help.
The featured creature is our noble dog, Zoe, a star
in the adventure.

tv time

I've been enjoying the British TV show,
Two Fat Ladies. I'm sure that Roald Dahl
would have been a fan of this program.

movie time

I watched the old Cat People movie (1942) again
because I had "nothing else to do....nothing else to do"

huckleberries

I was out walking in the woods for my lunch break.
I like to have a few huckleberries on my walk.
Today I had 12 (sorry birds) and they reminded me
of good old Huckleberry Hound.

calling orson...

I'm well into writing a new novel. Aaron Gunderson,
the artist for The Book of Ticks, has signed on to do
the illustrations for it. This new adventure features a
one-legged magician and a clunky robot. One of the
recent chapters is called "Orson Welles" so in honor
of him I've been watching The Third Man movie again.

Frolix 8

Just reread one of my favorite PKD books,
Our Friends from Frolix 8. Always amazing
and once again timely fiction beyond belief.
Also I can't believe he named the dark-haired
girl in this book, Charley Boyer, (as in Charles
Boyer). Nice one.

movie time

I finally got to see San Diego I Love You a 1944 movie
where Buster Keaton is a bus driver. After ten years back
and forth on the same route, he decides to take the bus on
a detour. There's a great scene of the bus driving along
the moonlit beach, while a passenger in the back plays
violin. Also, a gag I'm sure Buster wrote involving a
barbershop specializing in black eyes.
